Homemade Ketchup August 26, 2009

Why settle for Heinz when you can make your own without corn syrup?

ketchup

2 1/2 cups of tomato paste

3/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 1/4 cup apple butter

3/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp garlic (crushed or as powder)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl or in food processor. Keeps well frozen!

  1. Whoah! this looks great and much simpler than the one I made by reducing tomato juice down on the stove. I’m on GAPS so I’m not supposed to have anything canned but I found a brand of tomato paste that comes in glass jars. I will definitely give this a try! thanks!
