What a great post! am totally psyched to try out the pudding recipe...
Living in NYC we have a really amazing selection of grocery stores, from Pan Asian, and Pakistani-Indian to African and Middle Eastern.
Nothing is more fun than getting lost in the aisles!

After a trip to a huge Asian grocery, we found ingredients for taro pancakes with red bean paste and condensed milk. see below post for details.

Thanks for the continued inspirations, Ms. Tasty Life!!

Myrite,

Great article. I was a junk food vegetarian for 7 years.

Found a balance now between my moral beliefs and dietary needs.
I am now a cutetarian. I limit my animal consumption to only poultry and beef to get in the right proteins that I need and maintain a healthier balance of grains, veg, fruits etc!

word! Soy is truly unfit for consumption in my books. Perhaps a small amount, well fermented into miso or occasional bits of Tempeh but the way we're "producing" soy now is totally scary. "The Vegetarian Myth" by Lierre Keith provides a great overview of soy and grain production in general, very enlightening read.
